The posh patrons of Christie’s auction house in New York had no trouble at all spending money on Monday, when they set a new all-time record for the price of a single painting. The winning bid for Pablo Picasso’s “The Women of Algiers (Version O)” was a whopping $160 million, plus commissions that brought the total price to just shy of $180 million!
